Product OverviewLG408 Slag-Free Zinc Phosphating Agent is an eco-friendly pre-treatment product for coating, specially designed for steel surface treatment. It forms a uniform, dense and fine zinc phosphate crystal film on steel surface through optimized film-forming mechanism, which greatly improves the adhesion and corrosion resistance of the coating. Compared with traditional phosphating process, it has outstanding advantages of no sediment, stable bath solution, easy management and excellent environmental protection.

Standard Process FlowAlkaline degreasing → Water washing → Water washing → Acid derusting → Water washing → Water washing → Neutralization → Surface conditioning → LG408 Phosphating → Water washing → Water washing → Drying
Standard Operation Method1. Pre-treatment: Before phosphating, the workpiece must be completely degreased and fully washed with water. It is recommended to use a special surface conditioner for surface adjustment, which is the prerequisite for obtaining uniform and fine phosphating film
2. Phosphating treatment: Prepare the tank with tap water / deionized water at a ratio of 5-10%, strictly control temperature, time, TA, FA and accelerator concentration; 1.5-3 minutes for spraying line, 5-15 minutes for immersion line
3. Post-treatment: After phosphating, use clean tap water for two-stage counter-current rinsing. It is recommended to use deionized water for the last rinsing or passivation sealing, and immediately dry thoroughly with hot air at 110-140℃
Bath Management & Maintenance1. Daily monitoring: Test and record TA, FA and accelerator concentration by titration every day, and monitor pH value with precision pH meter
2. Parameter adjustment: Replenish LG408 stock solution when TA drops; replenish neutralizer when FA rises; replenish special accelerator when accelerator concentration is insufficient; the slag-free feature makes parameter fluctuation small, and the adjustment difficulty is much lower than traditional phosphating
3. Bath maintenance: Regularly clean a very small amount of suspended solids at the bottom of the tank; when the iron ion accumulation is too high (>1.5g/L) or the film-forming quality cannot be restored, partially or completely replace the bath solution. The long-life feature greatly extends the tank replacement cycle
Precautions1. Personal protection: Wear acid-resistant gloves and safety goggles during operation
2. Pre-treatment quality: Incomplete degreasing is the main cause of phosphating film defects (such as blooming, yellowing)
3. Water quality requirement: It is recommended to use tap water or deionized water for preparation and replenishment, avoid high hardness water
4. Pollution control: Strictly prevent foreign matters such as oil, oxide scale, other acid and alkali solutions from entering the phosphating tank
